There are many emotions involved when selling the life’s work

Thor Henriksen and Roger Isaksen have built Proff Rent into a solid player in the cleaning industry with their own hands. When they decided to sell their life's work, they needed a reliable partner, which they found in BDO.
It was in Skjervøy in 2006 that Proff Rent saw the light of day. The owners, Thor Henriksen and Roger Isaksen, always had great ambitions for the company, with Troms and Finnmark as their areas of operation.

"We had to knuckle down from the start and have worked hard to build the company to where it is today. When you put in so much blood, sweat, and tears, you naturally develop a strong relationship with the company. I won’t hide that," says Managing Director Thor Henriksen.

Henriksen wanted to strengthen the quality of the company, and the best way to do that was to become part of something bigger.

"When the decision to sell the company was made, we had to find the right partner to facilitate the sale. We found that in BDO Deal Advisory and Henning Strandås. We are simply very impressed with the work that has been done," continues Henriksen.

Getting under the skin

Henriksen describes a thorough process where all parts of the company were reviewed, from the financial to the cultural aspects. He believes that BDO became an integral part of the company during the sales process, by getting to know both the employees and the values of Proff Rent.

"When there are so many emotions involved, it gave us confidence that BDO understood our wishes for a buyer who could reflect what we have built. The cooperation has exceeded all expectations, and the process has been orderly," says Henriksen.

Transparency ensured the right buyer

Henning Strandås is a Director at BDO Deal Advisory, and with extensive experience in transaction advisory, he was impressed by the team from the North. "This is my everyday work, but groundbreaking for them. Proff Rent was accommodating and ensured a good and transparent process. That also makes the match with the buyer even better. We found that match with 4Service," says Strandås.

During the process, BDO Advokater, represented by Ingjer Ofstad, was also involved. She assisted with legal considerations and guidance related to GDPR and privacy.

"We managed to draw on expertise across the BDO system. This ensured a smooth but thorough process," continues Strandås.

A new era awaits

So, what lies ahead for Henriksen and the 195 employees at Proff Rent?

"Now we are part of the Eir and 4Service system. We don't see this as an ending; it's the next era that awaits. Through 4Service, we become part of a very strong company, with professional routines that will make the working day for our employees even better. This allows us to continue delivering the great services we have been providing since 2006," says Henriksen, adding,

"I wish we had another company to sell so that we could continue the collaboration with BDO!"
